Mike Ross OBE, FCMI
Profile:-
Initially trained in product design and later management, Mike has worked in various positions throughout the car industry in the project control and programme management disciplines. Having started his own business offering contract services in this field in the early 1990's, from 1995 has worked primarily internationally as a contract programme manager and consultant within the car industry.
Operated at all levels from project team to board of directors, working with executives, government ministries, industrial and academic bodies. Responsible for introducing several new model and facelift projects of varying scale, with budget; performance; human resource and organisational development. The most notable of which was the Iranian national car named Samand which contributed to the awarding in June 2001, of the OBE for services to British Commercial Interests in Iran.
The range of projects delivered has exposed Mike to the whole life cycle of products from initial inception, through engineering and development, sourcing and procurement, production operations, launch to the market, after sales service and support up to vehicle certification and disposal processes.
Conversant with latest methodologies for "Fast Track" digital design, quality and project management, is able to organise project teams to operate within a structured, dynamic framework. Capable of working under pressure within a varied cultural environment, having experience of managing project teams with engineers from Iran, China, Russia, Korea and Europe.
Mike is an experienced facilitator and has performed as temporary executive/director within organisations; is computer literate, able to communicate at all levels and is flexible about international travel and working.
